Let’s see, I could join the rest of the myriad voices on the internet bemoaning the political stage of the nation, but I think I’d be better off talking about something else, even if no one reads this. Let’s talk about something supernatural. I know.
I heard about it from my brother, who is a big film person. He knows all kinds of facts and names from film (television as well as movies). If you haven’t heard of it, Stranger Things is out on Netflix, and it’s fair.
Now, it’s not the greatest, and it’s not the worst. It was…adequate.
Without giving anything away, it has (to me) a mix of The Goonies and, strangely, the Million Dollar Man. Don’t ask me about the second reference, well you can, but you’ll have to watch the show to see what I mean.
It’s an adventure, and it’s fair. That’s all I can really say. That makes this whole blog post relatively short, but that’s what it is.
If you’ve ever seen E.T. before, or the Goonies, you’ll get a sense of what this show is about. One thing I did like about it was how short it is – eight episodes. That’s it.
If you haven’t seen it, and you’re in to the Sci-Fi stuff, check out the pilot. If that doesn’t do it for you, my thoughts are to put it down and move on to something else.
